Former TG Lions Academy (TGSC) Player Signs Professional Contract
Former Tony Glavin Soccer Club (now TG Lions Academy) player, Mary Niehaus, has signed a professional contract with F.C. Ramat HaSharon. F.C. Ramat HaSharon is an Israeliwomen's football club from Ramat HaSharon competing in the Israeli First League and the Israeli Women's Cup. The club was established in 2005 joined the league, playing its first season in the northern group, eventually finishing first in the group and qualifying to the championship group, where, by the end of the season the club finished as runners-up. The club played two seasons in the second division, finishing top of the league in its second season and promoting back to the top division
Niehaus played her youth soccer with Tony Glavin Soccer Club all the way through her U18 year when she helped to guide the team to the USL Super Y League Nationals and a 3rd place finish. Among one of her many other highlights, of her time with the club, was winning the Schwan’s USA Cup Championship in 2010.
After a successful high school career at Nerinx Hall high school, Mary went on to St. Louis University where she was a 3 time Atlantic 10 Conference 1st team selection, 2 time United Soccer Coaches East All-Region selection, NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region team, and 4 time Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference selection. She finished her career ranked in the top 10 of many of the goalkeeping statistics in that position at St. Louis University.
In 2019 Niehaus played for the St. Louis Lions, of the WPSL, and helped guide the team to their best record in franchise history (7-2-1).
