ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 2022/23 SEASON

Beginning with the 2021-2022 league season, TG Lions Academy SC and Saint Charles FC began collaborating to provide more playing opportunities for players, and to work as two clubs on and off the field. We are delighted to announce, beginning with the 2022-2023 season, TG Lions Academy SC will become Saint Charles FC. Over the remainder of the spring season, we will continue to work together even more as we transition into one fully integrated club.

Becoming one club will give us a bigger footprint and provide us with greater resources that will allow for us to have a significantly greater impact on soccer within St. Charles County as well as creating even more playing opportunities and pathways for our current players at all age groups. We will continue to maintain our standards and with this coming together we will begin an internal staffing restructure that will allow us to better function administratively and competitively as we move forward into the 2022/2023 season and beyond.

The philosophy, methodology, and location of the two clubs aligns nicely making for a very natural marriage. The TG Lions Academy SC has been in operation in St. Charles County for 30 years with Tony Glavin being the figurehead. His influence in the soccer community will continue to carry through into the future of Saint Charles FC. Tony Glavin will be instrumental in this transition and on the field. Our players and staff will benefit from his vast experience as a player, coach, and club leader” says Saint Charles FC Boys Director Sean McGuigan Hart.

“I am very excited about both clubs coming together to share philosophy, expertise in developing young soccer players. We have a vast amount of coaching experience between both clubs that will benefit our young players.
