New Name-Same Philosophy

Tony Glavin Soccer Club, the longest serving youth soccer club in St. Charles County which was founded in 1994 and has focused on Player Development since its inception, will have a slightly different look moving forward.

Our philosophy of Player Development and a Club for all levels of players will not change. Our core values will continue through this rebranding. As we move into the 2020/21 season the Club has chosen a new look and will now be known as The “TG Lions Academy”. There will also be a slight modification to the logo.

The TG Lions Academy has a Jr. Development Academy for the 4-8 year old range, Competitive teams from U9-18 boys and girls, with the addition of The Elite TG Celtic Academy for the U11-U15 boys and girls age groups.  More of an emphasis will be put on the TG Elite Celtic Academy than in previous years.

Club Technical Director Tony Glavin would like everyone to know, “Although we have competitive teams in all ages and have had for many years, we feel the need to be more competitive with our Elite Celtic Academy moving forward, while still maintaining the balance of developing our young players”. Club Director Geoff Lorimier added, “This will allow us to continue to be a club for all players. We will carry on the focus of player development, but now we will have the avenue for the Elite players and we can focus on the developmental cycle of those players in order to continue their pathway to the USL and WPSL.”

As we continue to evolve and grow our club, there will be new staff additions to support our vision. Announcements will be made soon.
